Do the Math-ew.

One of my copies of Peter Pan (Peter and Wendy) has an Introduction by Anne McCaffery, best known for her Dragonriders of Pern series. I'm a little perturbed by something she wrote. It seems she did a great deal of research to be able to write her insightful Indroduction...except for the author's name. It's not the greatest quality picture, I apologize. But I hope you will be able to see what's wrong.

  1. Oops. Typo? Editor's fault? Bad mistake.

  2. I would actually argue that either an editor or proofreader should have caught this. I'm not saying that the author bears NO responsibility for getting the facts straight, it's just that there is supposed to be a process for reviewing writing before it goes into print. For good reason! (Can you tell I'm tired of having to explain why spell-check isn't just as good as a proofreader? Sigh.)
